About
The digital era we are in right now has fundamentally changed the world of marketing. Successful marketing today is often such a departure from what the average person considers marketing that I often find myself advising people to not think of what they need to do as marketing. If you are not sure what I mean, a great place to start would be The New Rules of Marketing & PR or the now ten year old, Cluetrain Manifesto. Many of the fundamental concepts in that book still hold true.

Bio
I have been a marketing professional for over fifteen years and have been using social media extensively in marketing higher education for the last four years. In the private sector, I worked on successful marketing projects for Texaco, OKIDATA, Del Monte and Isuzu Motors as an account manager.
With the University of Miami, I implemented a strategic campaign to improve rankings in addition to launching successful marketing campaigns for health care services. At FIU, I was responsible for championing a strategic initiative to build a web communications team and building the university’s social media presence from scratch. Managing the brand and implementing logo guidelines go hand in hand with the marketing consulting work I currently manage at FIU.
